Today’s world is global. We’re interconnected, doing collaborative work and staying connected with people all around the world. It’s amazing, but it’s also a challenge to manage work and coordinate across different time zones. Without consideration, it’s easy to make mistakes because of time zone confusion. You might schedule a meeting at an impractical time for some participants. Miss a deadline because you didn’t convert it to your local time. Double-book appointments because the conflict across scheduling zones wasn’t apparent. So, to work well with others in different places, we need good time zone management.
Time zone conversion tools help us bridge the geographical boundaries and stay mindful of everyone’s schedule limitations. There are simple browser-based calculators, full-fledged apps with widgets, and more. Take a look at our top 10 tools for time zone conversion, starting with Teamup: A calendar that has automated time zone detection and event conversion built in.
Top 10 tools for time zone conversion
1. Teamup
With time zone conversion tools, the process requires a few steps: First, you use the tool to see the event time across time zones. Then, you can use that information to create an event. With Teamup, you can create the event in your own time zone or the time zone of the event location, and send the event link or event page to other participants. The event time will automatically convert for each participant’s displayed time zone.
Every year a large part of the world adjusts their clocks to Daylight Saving Time (DST) for part of the year. DST changes are particularly confusing as different regions switch on different dates and times, and some areas do not change at all. Teamup makes it simple: All calendar events are automatically adjusted to Daylight Saving Time as appropriate for the displayed time zone. So you never need to do any DST time zone conversion manually.
You can see any event in a different time zone by switching the displayed time zone on Teamup. Try it out: In the embedded calendar below, choose the time zone you want to display by clicking on the time zone indicator in the bottom right. The red line indicates the current time in the displayed time zone.

4. World Time Buddy
A browser tool, a mobile app, and a widget: World Time Buddy offers several options for converting and comparing multiple time zones.
